CHINA SYMPHONY STOPS IN
DAYTON
Dayton Philharmonic music director Neal
Gittleman will share the stage with conductor Xincao Li when the China National Symphony
Orchestra visits Dayton's Schuster Center on May
22.
Dayton is the final stop on the China
National Symphony's 12-city North American tour
celebrating the orchestra's 50th anniversary. Gittleman will conduct Shostakovich's "Festive
Overture" and "Nature and Me" by Gong-Qian Yang.
The orchestra's principal conductor, Xincao Li,
will lead Khachaturian's Violin Concerto and
Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade." Chuanyun Li is
the violin soloist.
